Somers Fire & Rescue Association Donates $560.00 to Circle of Hope

Firefighter Jake Farfalla, center, of the Somers Fire and Rescue Department, presents a check from the Somers Fire and Rescue Association in the amount of $560 to Debbie Misurelli, second from right, president of Circle of Hope, during the December 2014 Department general meeting. Somers Fire and Rescue Department members raised money for the organization through the sale of pink and navy Somers Fire Department T-shirts in the fall of 2014. Pink is the widely used color to commemorate the fight again breast cancer.
Also on hand for the presentation were Circle of Hope members Linda Serpe, left, and Cindy Sklansky, second from left, and Amy Czerniec, far right. Circle of Hope is a Kenosha-based organization that has a support group for breast cancer patients as well as a non-profit that raises money to help women pay for medical bills and other items not covered by insurance. All the money donated to Circle of Hope is used to help breast cancer survivors. The support group has been around for 10 years and the non-profit is six years old. The Somers Fire and Rescue Association is a nonprofit organization that supports the Somers Fire and Rescue Department’s charitable and community service endeavors in addition to raising money to benefit the Department.
