On Tuesday, September 9, 2015, a Certificate of Appreciation was presented to the Tom and Donna Giles family by Ben Harbach, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of the Town of Somers, saying thank you for the donation of funds to purchase a thermal imaging camera.  The camera, to be used by firefighters, displays a digital temperature measurement along with a temperature scale measure to determine advancing heat.  This means Somers firefighters can better find people and pets when it is difficult to see through thick smoke.  Anytime firefighters can act fast in a fire situation, everyone benefits.  This generous donation of the Giles family will benefit the entire community of Somers today and in the future.  Thank you Giles family!
