Today, Somers residents enjoy those parks and recreation areas that were developed years ago with community support.  The foresight to establish parks and recreational space is the reason why we have those wonderful areas today.  Maintaining the same tradtion, Somers residents continue to support the establishment of dedicated space for future generations.  Additionally, the town has received several generous contributions of land from third-generation residents for the purpose of preserving a quality life style for all residents of Somers.
