Court Established

The Joint Municipal Court designated “Municipal Court for the Village of Somers and Town of Somers” was established pursuant to Chapter 755 and Chapter 66 of the Wisconsin Statutes and it became operative and functional on November 1, 2016.

Office Created

Pursuant to Chapter 755, Wisconsin Statutes, the office of Municipal Judge was Created for the Village of Somers and the Town of Somers.  Under Section 755 of the Wisconsin Statutes, the Municipal Court has exclusive jurisdiction over allegations of ordinance or traffic violations brought by the Village of Somers and the Town of Somers.  The Municipal Judge shall be elected at large for a term of four (4) years.
