Somers residents are invited to drop off their electronic waste and any documents to be shredded at the Somers Village/Town Hall at 7511 12th Street (Highway E) between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Oct. 3, 2020.
Electronics are a growing share of the waste stream. Televisions, laptops, tablets, video players, external hard drives, cellphones and other electronics contain valuable materials that can be recovered through recycling. Electronics also contain hazardous materials, such as lead and mercury, that is harmful if released in the environment.
Bring your canceled checks, old bills, old contracts, tax information, credit card applications, or even old love letters to be shredded.
