In light of the recent rain in the area, the Somers Fire and Rescue Department has lifted its burn ban.

In light of the current weather condition, the Somers Fire Department is issuing a burn ban in the Village and Town of Somers.

The ban is to start June 14, 2021.

Somers Fire Chief Carson Wilkinson said that his department already responded to one grass fire due the current dry conditions.
