Somers residents are invited to drop off electronics and any documents they need shredded to the Somers Village/Town Hall at 7511 12th Street (Highway E) Oct. 5, 2024. Collection will be between 9 a.m. and noon. You may be asked to show your ID.

Electronics are a growing share of the waste stream. Televisions, laptops, tablets, video players, external hard drives, cell phones and other electronics contain valuable materials that can be recovered through recycling. Electronics also contain hazardous materials, such as lead and mercury, that is harmful if released in the environment.

Wisconsin law bans most electronics from landfills and incinerators.
